Windows XP - Dial-up Connection
Setup

Click once on the "Start" button. Usually located in
the bottom left of your desktop (opening
screen).

Click once on "Control Panel"

If the control panel box (upper left of the screen)
states "Switch to Classic View" then click on the
writing once. If it states, "Switch to Category View"
then go to the next stage.

Click twice on the "Network Connections"
icon.

Click once on "Create a new connection"

Click on the "Next" button.
Make sure the check mark is in the "Connect to the
Internet" box. (Click once on the box to insert a check
mark into it). Click on the "Next" button.
Make sure the check mark is in the "Set up my
connection manually" box (Click once on the box to
insert a check mark into it). Click on the "Next"
button.
Make sure the check mark is in the "Connect using a
dial-up modem" box (Click once on the box to insert a
check mark into it). Click on the "Next" button.
Enter the name of the ISP in the "ISP Name" text
box. Click on the "Next" button.
Enter the ISP telephone number in the "Phone number"
text box. Click on the "Next" button.
Make sure the check mark is in the "Anyone's use" box
(Click once on the box to insert a check mark into
it). Click on the "Next" button.
Enter username and password within their respective
text boxes. Make sure there is not a check mark is in
the "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this
connection" box (Click once on the box to remove the
check mark). Click on the "Next" button.
Make sure the check mark is in the "Add a shortcut to
this connection on my desktop" box (Click once on the
box to insert a check mark into it). Click on the
"Finish" button. The setup of the dial-up connection
is now
complete.
