Self Registration
With an ADSL
registration password, you can self-manage the computers connected to your
high-speed Internet. If you do not know your ADSL password, please
contact our office.
Instructions for One-Time Self-Registration of your
Computer
You will be required to input the MAC address of your new computer before
accessing the Internet. To retrieve your MAC address:
1. Click on Start / Run and enter cmd in the open
window. Click on Open or OK to launch the DOS command prompt (a big black
window).
2. At the DOS prompt, enter ipconfig /all and press
return. Information will scroll onto the screen. Look for a line
under the heading Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection that reads Physical
Address. It will look like 00-E0-B8-73-28-A2 The physical
address is the MAC address of your computer. Write this down using the
example format 00:e0:b8:73:28:a2. (Yes, using colons
instead of dashes is important.)
3. When you launch your Internet browser you will be
prompted for the ADSL phone number. Please enter the pseudo number we have
assigned your account:
Phone Number: 403
123 1234
ADSL Management Password: (as provided)
4. In the space provided at the bottom of the screen,
enter the MAC address of your computer obtained above and click on the
Add MAC button.
5. Turn your computer and ADSL modem off for 5 minutes while the MAC address
is registered into our system. Turn the ADSL modem back on and wait for the
ADSL Link light to come on.
6. Start your computer normally and open your Internet
Explorer. Your Internet should be fully operational.
